Johnny Heineken has taken Kiteboard Course Racing to a new level and established himself as the man to beat. The only problem is, no one has been able to achieve that over the nomination period as Heineken holds a perfect record.

In a 153-boat fleet at the 2012 IKA Course Racing World Championship in Cagliari, Italy Heineken was leaps and bounds ahead of his rivals.

Five perfect races in the Final Series set him up nicely heading into the Medal Races where two out of three race wins handed Heineken his second successive World title.

Warming up to the IKA Worlds Heineken comfortably won the St. Francis Yacht Club Fall Dinghy Regatta in his native San Francisco before setting a Bridge to Bridge record of 14 minutes 14 seconds.

On his home waters of San Francisco Heineken continued to reign supreme, showcasing his local knowledge and superior skillset to full effect. Further San Francisco victories throughout 2013 came at the SF UltraNectar Challenge Long Distance, StFYC Elvestrom Zellerbach Regatta, IKA North Americans and AC Open - Big Cats and Kites to once again highlight his strengths.

In April 2013 Heineken took on a fleet of 61 at the African Course Racing Championships in Soma Bay, Egypt. The American further demonstrated what he was all about winning every race of the Final Series to maintain his unbeaten run.

To end his year the Bridge to Bridge record fell once again to Heineken with a time of 12 minutes flat.

Joining Heineken as a male nominee for the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year 2013 are Mathew Belcher (AUS), Francois Gabart (FRA), Paul Larsen (AUS) and Ian Williams Click here to view Johnny Heineken's ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Nominee Page.

The winners are selected by the ISAF Member National Authorities (MNAs), the national governing bodies for sailing around the world. The MNAs are now invited to vote for the male and female nominee they believe most deserves the Award.

The winners will be announced at the ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Awards presentation and dinner, taking place on Tuesday 12 November 2013. The venue for the event will be at the El Bander Hotel, Muscat, Sultanate of Oman.

Each winner will be presented with the prestigious ISAF Rolex World Sailor of the Year Award Trophy and a distinctive Rolex ISAF World Sailor website
