The International Paralympic Committee (IPC) is the global governing body of the Paralympic Movement. The IPC organizes the Summer and Winter Paralympic Games. Today, Thursday 12th April 2012, the IPC launched the first official website of the Oceania Paralympic Committee. The new website includes vital information regarding the regional council's member countries, and the athletes and sports it supports. In addition, the site has news and feature articles, images and videos. It also includes information regarding the IPC and the Paralympic Games, as well as matters relating to anti-doping and Paralympic Sport classification. The website launch is part of the IPC's overall digital strategy to develop a greater online presence for its members over the coming years. The site is the first of many the IPC will develop and launch this year. Craig Spence, IPC Media and Communications Director, said: 'Over the coming years the IPC aims to work closely with our members to provide them with the relevant tools that can help them grow awareness of the Paralympic Movement in their country or territory. 'This is the first of many websites we will be developing and launching ahead of London 2012, and by providing an online presence for our members we hope more people can learn about the Paralympic Movement and get involved.' The goal of the Oceania Paralympic Committee is to help cultivate and develop the Paralympic Movement in nine countries, including: Australia, Fiji, New Zealand, Papua New Guinea, Samoa, Solomon Islands, Tonga, Vanuatu and New Caledonia. The Committee was founded in 2006 and is based in Sydney, Australia. IPC Oceania Paralympic Committee Website
