Now that the Olympic and Paralympic dust has settled, 2013 promises to be the busiest year yet for the Academy. Many people have been left inspired to learn a new sport through the success of the Games, and there has been no better time and place to continue this enthusiasm than at the sailing academy. It is the perfect opportunity to try a new water sport this summer, from learning to sail to Stand-Up Paddle-boarding (SUP); there is something available at the Academy for everyone in the family.

SailLaser operate the Sailing School at Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy (WPNSA), offering a wide variety of sailing lessons, accessible to all abilities. They provide a cost effective way to learn to sail, including Sail for a Fiver, arranged through local schools, enabling local Children to experience sailing for the first time. They also offer bespoke tuition, class race training events, pre-regatta training and boat hire. There is no better opportunity to imbue the spirit of sailing into the next generation than the coming Summer. Academy director and four times Olympic Gold Medallist Sir Ben Ainslie praises WPNSA; 'The Academy is a fantastic venue, providing the optimal facilities, being easily accessible for the generation of today to get involved in water sports and learn an exciting new hobby.'

There are a number of other exciting water sports that you can try this summer. Windsurfing is available through the Official Test Centre, who have an affiliated RYA accredited school to cater for all abilities, from a taster session to an advanced Windsurfing course.

Also on offer is SUP; one of the fastest growing water sports in the UK. Alternatively Weymouth College offer a number of outdoor activities including mountain biking and coasteering, a great activity for the adrenaline junkie to scramble, swim and jump through rocks.

There are a number of other activities available and with the summer upon us, and the world class sailing venue on your doorstep, now is the time to get out on the water. With the venue boasting fantastic facilities for all abilities in a cost effective manner, enjoy a day out this summer holiday, learning exciting new skills, whilst having great fun.
