Genuine Risk leads 100th Chicago Mac

Less than 80 miles from the finish line Dick and Doug DeVos Z86 Windquest is six miles behind Randal Pittman’s 90 foot canting keeler Genuine Risk, with third placed Equation eight miles back.

While the tracking data throws up different data, careful inspection shows that the polling times are half an hour apart.

A record 439 boats started in the 100th Chicago Yacht Club Race to Mackinac Island, regarded by many as the world's freshwater 'ocean' classic.

The Race Committee started the first boats in the 333 mile race from Navy Pier in Chicago at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, and despite the variable starting conditions among them, all 23 sections were started on time.
