Follow the Louis Vuitton Trophy live on Sail-World

by Richard Gladwell on 8 Mar 2010
Emirates Team New Zealand practices for the Louis Vuitton Trophy with Team Origin. Follow the action live on Sail-World.com Chris Cameron/ETNZ http://www.chriscameron.co.nz

In partnership with SailTV, Sail-World will be offering live coverage of the Louis Vuitton Trophy.

To access the live coverage just click on the LV Trophy Live button just below the top of site banner on www.sail-world.com or http://www.sail-world.com/indexs.cfm?Nid=67039!click_here

Don't worry if you miss the racing because you are out of the New Zealand time zone. Full replays will be available , also on Sail-World. We expect a new version of Virtual Eye to also be available, so you can replay and review the action for yourself. However more that later.

Racing is due to begin at 1000hrs each day (NZT), with four races being sailed (each team will race once per day). The break between races is expected to be about an hour (allowing for boat checking, crew changes and tune up). All going well the last match of the day should get underway at 1600hrs, finishing at 1700hrs - depending on course length and wind conditions.

The live TV coverage featured on Sail-World will consist of a mix of Virtual Eye graphics and video from a range of cameras and positions.

Sail-World's NZ Editor, Richard Gladwell, will also be covering the regatta, and stories will be posted during the day.

For the first week of the regatta, Sail-World will be operating from the www.aucklandinternationalboatshow.com!Auckland_International_Boat_Show (just inside the Halsey Street entrance). As well as seeing how Sail-World stories get put together, we'll be running plenty of sailing video, plus images from the regattas we have attended over the past 12 months or so including the 2008 Olympics and 33rd America's Cup. Most of these have never previously been published.

There will also be the opportunity to enter Sail-World's competitions at the stand (306). Win one of a North Sails gear bag; a Southern Spars reversible vest and cap; a Harken Transition Pack; and a pack of Nanoshield products Marine Shield Clear Vision + Autoglass Clear Vision and more. So you have four chances to win - but you can only enter at Sail-World's stand.
