In Act 3 of the Extreme Sailing Series, the SAP Extreme Sailing Team have been maintaining the pressure on their race rivals during the second day, securing some fantastic results on Fushan Bay in Qingdao, China.

Of the six races today, the team crossed the line in the top three on two occasions and the Danish led team are now looking to make further gains as they head into the two remaining days of racing.

Speaking as the SAP Extreme Sailing Team came off the water in Qingdao, Mikkel Rossberg said: 'We had a pretty good day generally but were let down in terms of results by penalties when we found ourselves in a couple of tricky situations. It has been pretty cold here today but the weather looks warmer with very light winds tomorrow, more like Singapore and we know we can do well in those conditions. It’s a bit like golf, the first two days are all about making the cut and tomorrow we need to move up or at least maintain before we head into the final on Sunday.'

Nicolai Sehested added: 'It was a tough day today and we know we can do better. For the next two days we need to sail clean and fast and stay out of trouble if we are to move up the leader board.'

The SAP Extreme Sailing Team, led by Rasmus Kostner and Jes Gram-Hansen, are fourth in the overall series rankings and three points behind closest race rivals, GAC Pindar.
