The winds were 10-12 for the first race and 12-15 for the second race. With five races competed, the race discard now comes into play. In the first race of the day (the fourth one of the series) the Swiss entry skippered by Seamus McHugh (with the 2007 world champion Andy Beadsworth as tactician and Simon Fry as crew) took the lead at the top mark and was unchallenged to take the gun.
