Brisbane to Noumea Ocean Race 2012 entries now open

Sail Noumea 2012 consists of the Brisbane to Noumea Ocean Race departing on Sunday 3 June and the Brisbane to Noumea Passage Cruise Rally departing on Sunday 27 May. Australian entries are now open for the Brisbane to Noumea Ocean Race. Entries for the rally will open on Monday 20 February.

Sail Noumea is the combined effort of Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron in Manly, Queensland Australia, Royal Akarana Yacht Club in Auckland, New Zealand and Cercle Nautique Caledonien in Noumea, New Caledonia. The new beachfront Royal Tera Hotel and Resort in Noumea will act as race headquarters with many of the competitors and supporters staying there after the race.


In Noumea, CNC will arrange berthing for all participating yachts and host the Tri-Nations Harbour Race. A post race cruise rally south to the Isle of Pines will depart from Noumea Monday 11 June for an expected eight day run.

The event is Category 1 with proof of stability required for entry. Races will be conducted under IRC and PHS in Short-Handed and Fully Crewed categories.

After the success of the first two Information Evenings, RQYS will be hosting two more on various topics in relation to offshore sailing to be held on Wednesday 21 March and Wednesday 19 May 2012.
