Roads and Maritime NSW is reminding boaters to keep clear of a section of the Edward River this weekend for the safe staging of the 2014 Deniliquin RSL Fishing Club Classic.
Roads and Maritime Services has granted an exclusive use aquatic licence on the river from the start of the no skiing and aquaplaning zone at Boggy Creek to Grahams Reserve boat ramp from 6a.m. to 5p.m. on Saturday and from 6a.m. to 11a.m. on Sunday.
Boaters not competing in the event will have access to the area, although towing sports such as water skiing and wake boarding will be prohibited due to the large number of vessels in the water.
The area will be maintained and monitored by marked control vessels.
Roads and Maritime reminds people to wear a lifejacket when boating, especially in vessels smaller than 4.8 metres when alone, at night or offshore.
