Audi Hamilton Island Race Week - Might there be sheep in the paddock?

by Sail-World.com on 20 Aug 2013
Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2013 - Sunrise day 3 Sail-World.com http://www.sail-world.com
For day three of Audi Hamilton Island Race Week 2013, we welcome a better forecast. Certainly a great day on the water is expected.

When its blowing 12-13 knots, across the water you can see occasional whitecaps, at 14 knots they are everywhere and at that point as the Kiwis say there are sheep in the paddock.

After two soft days with winds rarely beyond eight knots anywhere, its a better forecast for day three, with the Predict Wind models suggesting that winds could reach 15 knots.

Many years ago the 83 nautical mile Coral Sea race and more recently a 50+ mile race, would have started early on this day, but with the Race Committee being presented with another softish forecast last night its Club Marine Long Race and Medium Distance race has been rescheduled, to a later date.

At last we are beginning to catch up with images from day one and two. You can start to wander back thru the site and see them. Including more from Andrea Francolini, the Whale Whisperer.
