America's Cup: Spithill cartwheels World Series style in Race 1

'Oracle Team USA digs the bows in and capsizes at the first mark in the first fleet race of day four of the America’s Cup World Series, San Francisco.'    Sail-World

Oracle Team USA's James Spithill performed a spectacular pitch-pole when in second place rounding the first mark in the first fleet race of Day 4 of the America's Cup World Series, causing the competitors advancing rapidly from astern to scatter.

Full credit to Terry Hutchinson and the Artemis crew for a very quick reaction, avoiding what could have been a very nasty incident.

Fortunately the only thing damaged was a bit of pride, all of the ribs in the top of the wingsail, plus some wet instruments, and Spithill returned to compete well in the second race of the fleet section and won the overall match racing final..
