Up to 70 boats are expected for the event, with fierce competition expected. Entrants from 6 States plus Japan and NZ will compete against Gold medallists, Americas Cup sailors as well as present and past Moth World and National Champions.
Australia’s dominant team from the recent Italian World Championship ( Josh McKnight first, Scott Babbage second, Rob Gough third, Andrew McDougall fifth, and Julian Salter eighth) will fight it out with Gold medallists, Nathan Outteridge (also past Aust and World Moth Champ), Ian Jensen and Tom Slingsby, and NZ Silver medallist Peter Burling all returning to the fun speed and excitement of the moth class after the hard work of their Olympic campaigns.
But many of the other competitors are capable of mixing it with these stars.
Championship racing will be between Wangi Bay and Swansea from 1.00pm between the sixth and 12th Jan. A special dash for Cash knock out event will be held late on Tuesday the ninth.
Results will be posted
here.
