Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week - Extreme 40's to participate

Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week, one of the longest running events in UK sporting history, is being held from the 11th to 18th August 2012.

Following the news that the UK edition of the Extreme Sailing Series will take place in Cardiff this year (24th to 27th August) after the Series received a commercial bid backed by a grant from the Welsh Government, CWL continues to work closely with the team at OC Thirdpole to ensure a presence for these exciting boats at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week in 2012.

There is a strong likelihood that a number of the Extreme 40’s will participate in some demo racing at Aberdeen Asset Management Cowes Week with the potential for racing close-to-shore, off the Green, after the rest of the regatta fleets have finished racing for the day. In addition, there will be a welcome return of the traditional Cowes Week fleets running under spinnaker up the Green as they jostle for pole position at the finish; a sight many have missed.

Since 2007 CWL has enjoyed working with the Extreme Sailing Series in its various guises and their racing has provided additional excitement for the many visitors to the regatta.
