2013 Victorian Jeanneau Rendezvous great success

2013 Victorian Jeanneau James Walshe
In what was thought what was going to be a fairly ordinary Melbourne Winter’s day one recent Saturday for the inaugural Victorian Jeanneau Rendezvous, ended up being unusually spectacular weather and as a result, 17 Jeanneau owners around Port Phillip Bay brought their vessels up the mouth of the Yarra to Melbourne City Marina to talk about boats with all the other Jeanneau owners.

Various prizes were also awarded on the day including ‘most worn headsail’, ‘oldest rigging’ and ‘highest engine hours’ thanks to generous local sponsors: Club Marine, Sandringham Marine, Doyle Sails, Mariner Engineering and Ocean Rigging Services.

The prize for ’furtherest distance travelled in their vessel’ ended up going to Hugh and Val Pilsworth from Sandringham Yacht Club who sailed their Jeanneau Sun Odyssey 49 all the way from Ireland, proving to many others on the day that there is no limit to where you can go with these boats.

38 South Managing Director Rohan Veal was delighted with the turn out and went on to say 'it was great to see how passionate Jeanneau owners are about their boats and their sailing.'

This passion was also noticed by many others who came down to see all the boats together and consequently may have converted a few more into potential Jeanneau owners - one day.
