The IOM European Championship kicked off Sunday, pitting in more than 90 participants in seven days of intense sailing competition set in the beautiful island of Cres, Croatia.
A huge number of competitors arrived in Cres in the weekends to showcase their skills in one of the most coveted IOM event this year.
Cres already hosted majors international sailing events in the past, making it an ideal sailing location for these wonderful one meter, radio-controlled boats.
But before the competition officially starts, the finest IOM sailors has provided the crowd a enticing preview of what they expect in the weeklong event.
IOM sailors coming from France, Israel, Brazil, Holland, Spain, Portugal, the United Kingdom, the United States, Italy, Czech Republic, Norway Romania, and other European countries already had a taste of the competition when they participated in Sunday’s exhibition run in the island’s breathtaking port.
After an entertaining warm-up race Sunday afternoon, IOM officials and dignitaries officially opened the racing event to the delight of the competitors and their supporters.
