The 12ft Skiffs Harsco Infrastructure Interdominion Championship 2013 is expecting a strong fleet from Australia and New Zealand to slug it out for the title in the weeklong event from January 4-11 in Brisbane..

After months of preparation the Harsco Infrastructure Interdominion Championships are officially underway. With ideal conditions forecast for the opening weekend of racing, members of the public are invited to the club to meet the sailors, enjoy the hospitality and watch some of the most exciting skiff sailing on the planet.

A free of charge spectator boat departs daily at 12 noon from the William Gunn Jetty to put spectators in the heart of the action. No bookings are required however spaces will be allocated on a first come first served basis.

Among the teams there is a strong line up from New Zealand with eight boats competing including Alex Vallings, a past three time winner, owner of C-tech and an active 18ft Skiff sailor, plus six time winner Tim Bartlett.

There will be 10 skiffs from Sydney including: 18ft skiff sailor, current champion and three in-a-row Nick Press, and Brett Hobson, the 2009 winner.

The local Brisbane fleet are looking to use their home ground advantage to push towards the front of the fleet.

So the fleet is strong this year, with a number of sailors who could win it, from both sides of 'the ditch'.
