Top-notch sail racing competition is about to unfold off the coast of Australia over the next two weekends as dozens of wonderful 12’ skiffs boats battle it out for sailing supremacy at the 2012 NSW State Championships.
12’ skiffs will be competing in the NSW State titles over the next two weekends.
The 12’ skiff class is a development class which allows a wide scope of innovation in the boats, and is one of the most exciting classes of skiff on the water.
The series, sponsored by Lincoln Crowne & Company, will be held at Woollahra Sailing Club this Saturday and Sunday; and Lane Cove and Abbotsford Sailing clubs the following weekend.
The NSW State Championships also act as the selection series for the Australian team to compete against New Zealand, in the 12’ Skiff Inter-dominion Championship which is to be held in Brisbane in January 2013.
The Lane Cove, Woollahra and Abbotsford clubs are expecting to have up to 25 boats competing and leading the charge for glory will be 'Gemmell Sails' (Murray Press), 'Lincoln Crowne & Co' (Jonathan Temple), 'Yabba Dabba' (Nick Press) and 'Garde' (Brett Hobson).
