The Tactick J/80 UK National Championship 2011 in association with Baltic Wharf will be hosted by the Royal Dart Yacht Club in Kingswear (opposite Dartmouth) from Tuesday 7th June 2011 to Friday 10th June 2011. The http://www.keyyachting.com/wp-content/uploads/Tacktick-J80-UK-National-Championship-2011-Notice-of-Race.pdf!Notice_of_Race and Entry Form are online now.

The 2011 Championship is the first of three events scheduled to be held in the port of Dartmouth. The 2012 UK National Championship will also be held here in May 2012 and the J/80 World Championship will be sailed in the same waters from June 9th to 15th 2012.

The rapidly growing UK J/80 fleet will therefore have ample opportunity to get to know the championship race area and local conditions in the run up to the 2012 Worlds and, as the same Race Management Team will be running each of the three events, competitors and spectators can expect some spectacular one-design racing and nail-biting competition over the next eighteen months.

Tacktick have once again stepped up to headline the championship. Ben Hodgson-Kerry, UK Sales Manager for Tacktick commented, ‘We are delighted to be continuing our longstanding support of the J/80 UK Class Association in sponsoring the UK Nationals, in the run up to the World Championship in 2012. The J/80 is an ideal ‘Tacktick’ boat requiring sophisticated performance electronics with a proven track record for reliability and performance.

Baltic Wharf, a full service boat yard at the head of the river Dart is also be adding some commercial weight to the event. Steve Mittler, Director of Baltic Wharf explained ‘Baltic Wharf has sponsored a highly successful J/80 youth team for a number of years now and with the World Championships coming to our home port of Dartmouth in 2012 we are thrilled to have the opportunity to strengthen our ties with top class racing and the J/80 Class in particular’.

The historic naval port of Dartmouth is quite simply a stunning venue. Racing will take place in open water on windward-leeward courses. Spectators will have amazing views of the race-course from overlooking cliffs and beaches. Shoreside facilities for visiting yachtsmen are second to none and there are numerous fabulous shops and first class restaurants along with plenty of excellent accommodation for competitors and their families. The Tacktick J/80 UK National Championship 2011 in association with Baltic Wharf is expected to draw entries from all around the UK and Key Yachting Ltd Tacktick Baltic Wharf website
