St. Maarten - St. Martin Classic Yacht Regatta 2013 organizers announced today that the sixth Classic Regatta will take place over the weekend of Friday 29th to Sunday 31st March.

The last Classic Regatta was held in 2010 and has been temporary halted due to a lack of sponsors and participants but will now again take place during the last weekend of March 2013.

The yearly regatta was started in 2006 for the first time and always took place in January.

Over the years, owners, captains and crew have indicated that a regatta date later in the Caribbean season would give more classic yachts the possibility to participate, so the organizers have now accordingly changed the dates for their sixth Classic Regatta.

The St. Maarten - St. Martin Classic Yacht Regatta is now scheduled one week after the St. Barth's Bucket and before the Caribbean's 'Mother of all Classics' in Antigua in April.

The St. Maarten - St. Martin Classic Yacht Regatta attracts classic yachts, vintage yachts, schooners, Caribbean workboats like the Cariacou sloops, spirit of tradition and spirit of classic yachts from the Caribbean Islands, the US and Europe.

Several new and International sponsors have promised to be on board for the next edition in 2013 and efforts to attract yachts from the Mediterranean and USA have already resulted in some pre-inscriptions. Classic Yacht Regatta website
