Spectator Boats for Sailing races - Qingdao
by Olympic News Media on 8 Aug 2008
Six spectator boats arrived at the Qingdao Olympic Sailing Center on Tuesday, August 6. Altogether, the six boats have capacity for 8,000 people.
A long trip and a short trip are offered with each of the spectator boats. The long trip would last three to four hours and take spectators to two to three competition areas. The short trip would only last an hour and take spectators to one competition area. All boats will also provide race information and medical supplies.
Due to the restrictive nature of the roads surrounding the Sailing Center, it will take spectators 20-30 minutes to walk from the nearest public transportation station to the boats. Spectators will also share one security checkpoint, so spectators are advised to arrive an hour before race time.
