There are a still crew positions available to race in the Coastal Classic with us on board Lion New Zealand.

Lion New Zealand was built for Sir Peter's 1985/86 Whitbread Around the World Race attempt and is perfect for the windy conditions we are currently experiencing. The race will take 10-20 hours depending on the conditions and there are opportunities to sail back to Auckland on her also if you would like to make a weekend of it.

This is a perfect opportunity to share a father and son or mother and daughter weekend, young people are welcome, 13 years or older with a parent. No experience is required, the professional crew on board will teach you all you need to know to experience the race of a lifetime.

You will be sailing on board with our newly appointed Skipper Alistair Moore, a very experienced yacht racer and was crew for Sir Peter Blake on Seamaster so has lots of history to share if you are interested. The crew will gather on Lion New Zealand at 8.30am on Friday the 25th October, the race starts at 10am so plenty of time to get to know each other and the boat before the starting gun.

As a Trust we need to cover our costs for the race, the contribution to costs for the Coastal Classic is $450.00 per person. To race with us you will also need to become a member of the Trust, membership is included in the contribution. You will receiving the following benefits from becoming a member of our Trust:
