Its a cold foggy London winter Saturday morning, but at the top of the hill at Alexandra Palace, there is once again good crowds surging through the halls after the traditional 10am count-down. Its warm and dry in Ally Pally.
While trade shows were once upon a time the only way enthusiasts were able to find information on their chosen passion, nowdays that material comes via the internet.
The RYA Dinghy Show is unique because of its interactivity, its look and touch and feel, its demonstrations, workshops and coaching sessions.
Classes and clubs dominate the exhibitors lists.
While on the world scene this dinghy only show is one of the smallest, with only 8,000 attendees expected, its a show that works for exhibitors and dinghy sailors alike, what stands out is the number of youngsters and families that attend this show.
Boat Shows around the world could do well to learn lessons from the show program.
