An exclusive use aquatic licence for the safe staging of waterski races on Wyangala Dam this weekend has been granted by Roads and Maritime Services (RMS).
Maritime Hunter/Inland Regional Manager Sonia McKay said boaters should keep clear of the Wyangala Dam between 8am and 6pm on both Saturday and Sunday.
'This area will be used exclusively for the safe staging of waterski races organised by the Ski Racing Australia Association,' Ms McKay said.
'The exclusive use area will be about 200 metres around the race course which will be marked by inflatable buoys.
'For safety reasons, skippers should avoid this area as it will be restricted for the event and patrolled by control vessels,' she said.
Ms McKay said vessels would not be permitted to enter the exclusive use area unless authorised by a boating safety officer or a police officer.
