Ian Pinnell and Carl Gibbon of Britain won the opening race of the 505 World Championship being held at Mondello, Italy by the Club Canottieri Roggero di Lauria.
Second place went to Meike Shomaker and Rainer Gorge of Germany with Dietrich Scheder-Bieschin and Jess Holger, also of Germany in third.
Jorgen and Jacob Bojsen-Moller of Denmark finished fifth with former world champions Mike Martin and Jeff Nelson of the USA in sixth.
As of Monday morning (13 Oct) only one race result appears on the event website - apparently the first race of the World Championship - the programme indicates three completed by this time. No explanation or race report is posted.
