Welcome to Mexico and the prestigious Olimpiada Nacional De Vela 2014 part of Circuito Mexican De Vela that is taking place in beautiful Valle de Bravo. The best Mexican sailors were warmly welcomed during the opening ceremony by the President of Mexican Sailing Federation - Ing. Giovanni Aloi.

During the ceremony, Mr. Giovanni Aloi emphasized the importance of this National Olympiad organized by Conade: 'This Olympics is especially important for exceeding the number of sailors who have been in other editions. This year we reached 191 competitors and 13 states of the Mexican Republic.' Fernando Platas, now General Director of the Mexican Institute of Physical Culture and Sports (IMCUFIDE), encouraged the young to continue their efforts in this beautiful sport and achieve a better competitive level in Mexico.

Olimpiada Nacional had a great start as the sailing conditions were great during day one. On the race area the winds reached up to 14 knots increasing the difficulty level for the competitors who had to find the right shift in order to prevail.

After the first races, the provisional results has been shaped, but all can be changed as more races will follow.
