Nelson sailor wins Laser 4.7 World Championship

Nelson's Ryan Amlehn has won the Laser 4.7 class 2010 Under 16 world champion at the Royal Varuna Yacht Club in Pattya, Thailand.

After 12 races there was only 1 point between Ryan and Mark Spearman.

The two had the lions share of the first and second places throughout the regatta. Ben Whiteside from Christchurch YC was fifth in the same fleet of 30. Dylan Cox from Charteris Bay YC was 25th in the under 18 group.
