NYYC Race Week - Inclement weather causes race cancellation

Due to the potential for heavy thunderstorms and lightning in the afternoon, the New York Yacht Club Race Committee cancelled Day One of racing for Part II of New York Yacht Club Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex.

The biennial regatta’s split format hosted 26 classic yachts last weekend (July 12-13) for Part I. Racing for 83 boats in IRC, PHRF and One-Design classes will resume tomorrow (July 17) and continue through Saturday on Narragansett Bay and Rhode Island Sound.
