Melbourne to Vanuatu & Sailing south in a 28 footer
by Rob Kothe on 28 Jun 2006
A big sunday for the mixed double handed and fully crewed fleet setting out for Vanuatu. Sail-World will be covering this race in detail.
Sean Langman does it again, his pre-Hobart PR is legendary, and he usually gets acres of TV coverage in the fevered weeks before the race. Now you can see he’s going to do it from the other end of the fleet. Who else but Sean would decide to take a 1932 vintage 28 footer south at Christmas?
Won’t even need speculation about using a kite sail, or the customary spat between the maxi owners. Only thing it will be hard to get the TV cameraman on 28 footer, but somehow if anyone can, it will be the Media Maestro himself.
The Socceroos almost ate Pizza for breakfast on Tuesday morning. It did not quite happen but they certainly had plenty of supporters.
Gipsy Moth/YA Awards…a few tickets left, get in fast.
Lots of great stories today.
