Blazing sunshine, then a thunderstorm ahead of day 1 racing at the 2012 Laser World Masters Championships.
The extensive rigging lawns of the Royal Queensland Yacht Squadron, in the Queensland capital Brisbane, were busy this morning with 233 Laser Masters preparing for the first day of racing. Then just as the welcome speeches were about to start in came the thunderstorm.
An interesting week ahead!!
Winds are forecast today between 10-20 knots from the south east, but with squalls expected who knows what will happen.
Now out on the protected waters of the bay, just a couple of miles from the Club, the sun is shining again. First warning is at 1300 local time, that is 1400 AEST
