On day 3 of the Laser World Championship 2012, Olympic Gold medalist Paul Goodison (GBR) earned his third yellow flag (twice previously yellow flagged for Rule 42 - Kinetics). *

Light winds, which decreased in the afternoon from fourteen to six knots made sailing tricky even for the best sailors.

One of the event favourites, 2008 Olympic Champion Paul Goodison (GBR), received another set of yellow flag, under Rule 42 Kinetics and was disqualified in the first race of the day.

He saved the situation in the second race of the day by finishing in second place. His error in the first race however, has destroyed any hope of an overall top 20 place.

Overall, Tom Slingsby (AUS) increased his lead over the fleet with a win and an eight, cwhich he dropped.

Rasmus Myrgren (SWE) is nine points behind Slingsby. The Austrian Andreas Geritzer advanced from eighth in the overall rankings with a first and a fifth place in today's races to third place.

Tom Burton (AUS), who finished yesterday in third place overall had two bad starts and finished 22nd and 23rd, leaving him in eleventh place.

Philipp Buhl (GER) delivered a strong performance and moved up from 56 to 27. Simon Grotelüschen, Germany's Olympic Sailors in Weymouth slipped from fifth to seventh, with a fourth and a 22nd today.

In the evening, Buhl showed his strength and won both his semi-final and the final of the 'Boot Inport Race', sailed in front of large audiences in the marina.
