Laser sailor Tom Burton leads after day one of Italian Olympic Week. He is also currently ranked number one in the world (ISAF World Ranking).
The Australian sailor has had a string of impressive results this season; He was crowned 2013 Hyeres ISAF Sailing World Cup champion. The regatta is well known as one of the toughest events on the Olympic sailing circuit.
This event is also the first regatta organised by EUROSAF as part of the European Sailing Series for Olympic classes, similar to the ISAF Sailing World Cup format.
