SAP Extreme Sailing Team - Extreme Sailing Series Act 6 Cardiff SAP Extreme Sailing Team
Another busy week in the world of UK, European and international sailing. In the Extreme Sailing Series Act 6, being held in Cardiff, UK, the competition is wide open and the SAP Extreme Sailing Team is poised to capitalize on it’s overall third position on the leaderboard. Check out the video highlights below.

Racing for the second day of the J-Cup 2013, being held in Plymouth Sound, was delayed by lack of breeze. Racing got underway in the early afternoon, once a light and just race-able breeze stabilized. All classes got one good race in but the second was abandoned, as light rain killed off the gradient wind completely.

At the 470 Junior European Championships, Britain’s 470 sailors concluded their event in Pwllheli, Wales, with a double podium celebration in both the men’s and women’s division through Mike Wood-Hugh Brayshaw and Joanna Freeman-Katie Tomsett.

In European news: Kona Windsurfing European Championship took place in Swedish sailing mecca Sandhamn which has hosted numerous international sailing events over the years. A total of 45 sailors from countries like Portugal, Slovenia and Denmark competed. The winds were unusually light and unpredictable during the three racing days which demanded great tactical skills and concentration of the sailors. Read more inside.

After six days of racing there was triumph at the Gazprom International Dragon Gold Cup for Ukrainian Markus Wiezer and his team (UKR 7). The racing finished beautifully on the Bay of Douarnenez and proved to be much more invigorating than on previous days.

The seventh Central European Alp-Cup Edition (CEAC), the Platu 25 Circuit that takes place in the European Alpine Lakes, is getting thrilling with the next appointment in Brunnen, in Urnersee, one of the four branches of the Luzern lake in Switzerland where the third Act will be competed from the 30th of August to the 1st of September.

And finally in international sailing news: In an outcome that should surprise absolutely no one, Emirates Team New Zealand (ETNZ) today beat Luna Rossa Challenge to win the Louis Vuitton Cup (LVC) on San Francisco Bay amidst thick fog that no doubt complicated tactics. In a twist of fate, the last LVC was decided off of Valencia, Spain in 2007 when ETNZ defeated Luna Rossa Challenge using the old monohulls.

Sydney Hobart – New rulebook?
Is it time for a new rulebook when it comes to the Hobart? Will BNC my Net be the Overall Winner? Is it time for a new rulebook when it comes to the Hobart? Huey loves to shake things up, so here is some Maths to ponder whilst he makes up his mind... Now at just after 1110hrs AEDT on December 28, 2025, the leaders are just South of a place called Friendly Beaches.
