Discovery Yachts unveil new Discovery 57 blue-water cruising yacht

Discovery Yachts will be unveiling the designs for a stunning new blue-water cruiser, the Discovery 57 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show in September 2011, berth M246/248.

Evolved from the feedback of current owners, this impressive new model in the company’s range of bespoke blue-water luxury cruising yachts, retains all the proven design features loved by current owners whilst offering exceptional space and stunning new styling.

World renowned designer Ron Holland, has designed the hull, deck, and rigging of the new Discovery 57 to create the performance demanded by Discovery owners. Ken Freivokh, best known for his work in the superyacht sector, has created the overall styling of the exterior and deck as well as being responsible for the stunning new interior. Both designers will be on hand at the press launch to discuss the concepts behind their designs and reveal the drawings for the new 57.


The new Discovery 57 will be a fast passage performance yacht with an easy motion that is designed to be sailed double-handed. The new design incorporates all the cockpit features loved by Discovery 67 owners including twin wheels, a deep and secure extended cockpit seating area with a large fold-away table and ergonomically designed seat backs for superior comfort.

The stunning interior takes its inspiration from the award winning interior design of the Discovery Cat 50 and offers owners a light and airy living area in a choice wood finishes with numerous portlights, windows and hatches to ensure exceptional visibility and easy airflow. Panoramic vision is the hallmark of all Discovery Yachts and the new 57 is no exception with a large raised saloon and separate navigation position both offering excellent visibility.

The exceptional build quality of Discovery Yachts as well as the numerous innovative design features and substantial recent investment in high end machine tooling will ensure that the new Discovery 57 will surpass all owner expectations.

The design launch for the new Discovery 57 will take place at 10.30am on Friday 16th September 2011 on berths M246/248 at the PSP Southampton Boat Show. Production of the first yacht is already underway with the launch and test sails due to take place in 2012.
