The two superyachts at this year's Hamilton Island Race Week both sail exclusively with Doyle Sails
Doyle Sails dominance in the superyacht (100ft+) sector is clearly illustrated by the fact that both of the superyachts racing at this years Hamilton Island Race Week have chosen to exclusively use sails from Doyle. Both Kokomo (58 metres) and Perseus (50 metres) have complete sets of Doyle sails onboard and can compete with the knowledge that they will receive full support from Doyle Australia.
Doyle has seen its share of the international superyacht market (100ft+) grow considerably in the last 5 years as owners, project managers and captains realise the benefits of choosing Doyle sails.
Doyle's continual investment in production, technology and engineering development means that the company can produce sails that will withstand the massive loads required of them while maintaining their designed shape and keeping weights low for maximum sailing efficiency.
As well as having strength and resistance to stretch, superyacht sails need to be durable and resistant to damage as access to lofts with enough floor area to repair large sails is not available in many areas where superyachts sail. Doyle has recognised these requirements and addressed them in the design and robust construction of its products.
Doyle does not limit this knowledge to the superyacht sector: all sails, whether they are for sports boats, cruising boats, club racers or maxis benefit from the advanced design and manufacturing processes developed and the understanding that Doyle Sails has of efficiently addressing the loads in a sail of any size.
Kokomo's sails were built by Doyle New Zealand; the 2,227 square meter gennaker is believed to be the largest yacht sail built anywhere to date. The 2046.7 square metres of upwind sails were formed on the Stratis laminating tables at Doyle New Zealand's 21,000 sq ft temperature and humidity controlled plant in Auckland.
As well as the 100ft plus superyachts, Doyle's logo will be seen throughout the fleets racing at Hamilton Island this year.
