Barcelona World Race - Hugo Boss sail off Lands End

by Alex Thomson Racing on 1 Mar 2011
Hugo Boss Barcelona World Race http://www.barcelonaworldrace.org
Barcelona World Race - Hugo Boss sails off Lands End using the Hugo Boss Watch spinnaker. We thought it would be a good time to remind you that Andy and Wouter have now crossed the International Date Line, and are now over half way in the Barcelona World Race. Next milestone in their sights - Cape Horn.

'In crossing the intense low, again it shows that it is not the strong winds that are the problem. It is the waves. Strong winds, we can easily deal with by reducing more and more sail, but the very confused seas in the center of the low are not so easy. As they are very steep and from three different directions, we are only on half speed until it all calms down ...'

'Finally Hugo Boss is on rails again, and is really stretching her legs. With the winds building and from a favorable angle we are making good speed towards the next ice gate. Also, with the sea-state down, life on board has improved a lot. Sleeping without getting thrown around in a dry-ish sleeping bag, and making food without pouring boiling water all over your hands Barcelona World Alex Thomson Racing
