Barcelona World Race - Alex Thomson delays joining Hugo Boss

Barcelona World Race - Alex Thomson Racing Team has communicated today that the British skipper has delayed joining Hugo Boss as planned.

This difficult decision was taken by the British skipper because his baby son Oscar, who was born three days ago, on 7th January, has today been diagnosed with a heart condition called coarctation of the aorta.

Further tests will be carried out this week. Both parents will remain with their young son in Southampton General Hospital.

A further update will be made later this week when more detailed information is made available.
