Thurlow Fisher Lawyers, Michael Coxon, Davey O'Connor and Trent Barnabus were faultless in Race 1 of the 2013 Australian 18ft Skiff Championships leading all the way on a tricky south eastern Sydney Harbour course with challengers coming thick and fast.

Coxon capitalised on his lead on the first beat to Rose Bay, and was able to cover all the chasers throughout the race. Gotta Luv it 7, Seve Jarvin, Scot Babbage, Pete Harris were deep after the first beat to Rose Bay but powered to the finish in a tack fest, with Thurlow Fisher holding firm.

Rag & Famish, Jack McCartney, Mark Kennedy and 'how many boats can I race' David Witt mixed it up with the leaders all race taking third to round out yesterday's podium.

The race featured an outbound tanker with tugs and 18 knot Manly Ferries which gave the crews some interesting and scary options under spinnakers throughout the race.

Pick the Podium was won by Maria Bayly. Maria wins the cool www.barzoptics.com San Juan Floater sunnies and this weeks Bragging Rights.
