The two America's Cup teams based in Auckland are expected to do some training on the Hauraki Gulf, this week, and will race against each next weekend.

The two teams Emirates Team New Zealand and Luna Rossa, will be competing in their AC45's.

The racing is expected to be organised by the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron, and will be sailed on the Hauraki Gulf.

Luna Rossa, the latest Challenger, from Italy, is based in Auckland until March 2013 and operates out of the Emirates Team NZ base and an adjoining facility in the Viaduct harbour. They have a partnership agreement with Emirates Team New Zealand, the first in the 160 year history of the America's Cup between two challengers.
