America's Cup- Crash Coutts was here + Video

Oracle Racing Coutts - lines up at the windward end of the line Christophe Favreau http://christophefavreau.photoshelter.com/

Oracle Team USA's Russell 'Crash' Coutts lived up to his moniker, bestowed after he T-boned a committee boat, in his very first match racing event.

In the start of the first race, he tried the windward start tactic which had worked well for him in the first fleet races yesterday - except he was a little too obvious.

The fleet lining up for the start of the first race of the day saw him coming and 'shut the gate', closing out the gap between the most windward boat at the start and the Committee Boat.

Coutts was left with no option but to ram the Committee Boat at speed damaging at least one of the bows on the AC45, and he was unable to sail in either of the two races today. Christophe Favreau caught all the action at the windward end
