49er and 49erFX World Championships - Canadian sailors prepare + Video

Canada's 49er and 49erFX sailors are doing last minute preparations in Marseille, France before big event kicks off with measurement tomorrow. This eventKalu.ca will hold it's largest attendance for the 49er since 2001 with over 96 boats registered. The healthy Canadian contingent have been acclimatizing in France over the last week and the breeze has been full on.

Leading the Canadian 49ers are National Champions Jon Ladha and Dan Inkpen, along with Mori and Barnes and Stranix and Brodeur. 49erFX teams Berry and Laventure and Rafuse and Boyd will be battling for top Canadian spot at this inaugural 49erFX World Championship event.



Sailing for both fleets starts on Monday with three qualifying days of racing, semi-finals on day four and five with the grand finale (theatre style) on Sunday September 29th. A comprehensive overview of the racing formats can be found here.
