Over 32,000 people visited the weekend’s Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show and the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show at the RNA Showgrounds, proving once again the popularity of all things boating, fishing and outdoors related in South East Queensland.
In the eighth co-location of two of Queensland’s most popular outdoor living expos, crowds formed outside on all three mornings prior to the gates opening, eager to snap up a Show Special and see the latest and greatest in all things fishing, boating, camping and outdoors.
Across the two Shows, a total of 230 exhibitors showcased hundreds-of-thousands of products including World and Australian premieres such as the revolutionary Wavefisher line hauler and Raymarine’s latest sonar imaging system, the Dragonfly.
Visitors to the Tinnie and Tackle Show were also buying up big with many exhibitors reporting increases in sales, enquiries and quotes, particularly Old Town Canoes and Kayaks, which recorded an impressive 40 per cent increase on last year.
Presented by Club Marine, the Tinnie and Tackle Show showcased over 300 boats from almost 50 brands including the new Generation 2 Bar Crushers, Blaze, Stejcraft, PRO Craft as well as the new Stessl Magnum Centre Cab, Sea Fox 209 Commander and the Quintrex 650 Trident featuring the world’s lightest engine, the new Yamaha F200F.
'The 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show was a great success – the overall crowd numbers were pleasing, the weather was fantastic and many of our exhibitors reported sales and good customer interest,' said Jason Plant, Event Manager, Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show.
'From previous shows, we knew that parking would be limited at the Showgrounds, so we arranged for a free train loop between key Brisbane stations, which proved very popular.
'Based on the feedback from exhibitors and visitors alike, we’re already in planning stages for next year’s show and hope to have a few surprises up our sleeves!'
Paul Worsteling, renowned angler and host of television’s IFISH programme was again the Tinnie and Tackle Show’s official ambassador, with standing-room only at his talks on the Fishing Expo Stage.
Paul also conducted learn-to-fish workshops at the Kids Marine Zone, where the next generation of anglers were taught the best fishing techniques from one of the best in the business, plus got up-close-and-personal with all different kinds of sea creatures, including sting rays.
Club Marine magazine’s chef Bart Beek also wowed the crowds, with standing-room only at many of his cooking demonstrations, where he prepared recipes from the February/March edition of the magazine.
The 2013 Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show was again co-located with the National 4x4 & Outdoors Show, making it a one-stop-shop for any outdoor enthusiast, with one lucky visitor who travelled from Noosa on the Sunshine Coast winning a $15,000 Ultimate Adventure Package consisting of the latest outdoor, camping, fishing products and accessories.
The Brisbane Tinnie and Tackle Show will return to the RNA Showgrounds in 2014, with dates to be released shortly.
