The regatta is open all university attendees and alumni and open to all classes of boats including dinghies, skiffs and sailboards. A boats handicap will be determined by the VYC yard stick system, divisions will be formed according to the entries received. If there are five or more entries in a division, sailors will be able to contest for the both the overall university national title and university class national championship. An overall best performing university trophy will also be up for grabs at the regatta.
