Skill and experience overcomes youth and exuberance in Sydney Seaplanes NCYC Inner Spring Regatta twilight race...!

Legendary ocean racing partnership of Jim and Mary Holley, who between them have 37 Sydney Hobarts under their belts, sailed IOR Farr 40 Aurora to a PHS win in the Wednesday afternoon twilight race of Newcastle Cruising Yacht Club's inaugural Inner Spring regatta.

The fleet starting in the Hunter River sailed out to mark in Stockton Bight before returning to the harbour in good time due to a 15-20 knots westerly breeze which was predicted to be stronger.

Following the race sailors flocked to the NCYC clubhouse for a few quiet drinks and to analyze the race, plan for Sunday's two windward leeward races and generally celebrate 'hump day'....

The regatta concludes on Sunday with two races Event website
