NZ finishes 4th in Team Racing Worlds in Sweden

New Zealand has finished fourth at the 2026 Team Racing World Championship in Stockholm after a strong campaign that saw the Kiwi team reach the bronze medal race.
The New Zealand team of Jordan Stevenson, Mason Mulcahy, Rebecca Morgan, Zoe Dawson, Frankie Dair, George Angus, Luis Schneider and Maeve White was beaten 2–0 by Great Britain in Sunday’s bronze medal contest on Riddarfjärden.
The Kiwis had earlier impressed during the round-robin stage, winning six consecutive races, including victories over both American teams who ultimately contested the gold medal.
That run propelled New Zealand into the medal series and established the team as genuine contenders for a place on the podium.
The bronze medal race against Great Britain was closely fought, with the British team securing both races to claim third place.
While the Kiwis ultimately missed out on a medal, fourth represents an impressive result at a championship featuring more than 10 nations and 220 races across four days.
The world title went to USA 1 from California, who defeated USA 2 from Massachusetts 3–0 in the final, with Great Britain taking bronze.
New Zealand’s standout run through the championship included victories over both finalists.
The result caps a highly competitive return to the Team Racing World Championship, with New Zealand finishing among the world’s top four teams in Stockholm.
