Cystic Fibrosis WA (CFWA) is calling on Western Australian businesses, community leaders and adventure seekers to come together for the Breathe Regatta 2026, a unique fundraising event on the Swan River supporting people living with cystic fibrosis across Western Australia.

Taking place at the prestigious Royal Freshwater Bay Yacht Club, the Breathe Regatta combines sailing, networking and philanthropy in an unforgettable afternoon designed to raise vital funds for CFWA's support services, advocacy efforts and research initiatives.

Participants will crew Foundation 36-foot yachts on the Swan River, guided by experienced skippers, before competing in two exciting races. No sailing experience is required, making the event accessible to corporate teams, clients, staff and members of the community looking to challenge themselves while supporting a worthy cause.

The event will conclude with a vibrant Bayside Party, bringing together sailors, supporters and sponsors for food, drinks, entertainment and post-race celebrations overlooking one of Perth's most iconic waterways.

"Breathe Regatta is more than a sailing event - it is an opportunity for the community to make a meaningful difference in the lives of people living with cystic fibrosis," said a CFWA spokesperson. "Every dollar raised helps us deliver essential services, support families facing significant health challenges, advocate for better treatments and invest in research aimed at finding a cure."

Cystic fibrosis is a rare genetic condition that primarily affects the lungs and digestive system. More than 400 people in Western Australia live with the condition, with almost half being children. Managing cystic fibrosis requires daily treatments, multiple medications and frequent hospital visits, creating significant physical, emotional and financial challenges for individuals and their families.

CFWA is encouraging businesses to secure sponsorship opportunities, which include team sailing experiences and brand exposure, while individual tickets are also available for members of the public wanting to join a yacht crew or attend the Bayside Party.

Exclusive Perth SailGP partners with the Breathe Regatta 2026

Adding to the excitement, CFWA is proud to announce a partnership with the Australian Sail Grand Prix Perth, giving supporters the chance to bid on two highly sought-after SailGP Tech Tour experiences during a special auction at the Breathe Regatta.

The exclusive Tech Tour offers a rare behind-the-scenes look at one of the world's most innovative sailing competitions when it comes to Fremantle in February 2027. Comparable to a pit lane walk in Formula 1, the experience provides unparalleled access to the technology, engineering and logistics that power SailGP's high-performance F50 catamarans.

"We are thrilled to partner with the Australian Sail Grand Prix Perth to offer this incredible opportunity," said a CFWA spokesperson. "These experiences are not available to the general public and will add another exciting dimension to our fundraising efforts, helping us raise even more funds to support Western Australians living with cystic fibrosis."
