RORC Cervantes Trophy Race Start Martin Augustus Photo Gallery

The race started with some bright sunshine in Cowes but only a light breeze but as the yachts moved down the Solent the breeze dropped and the skies grew grey.

By the time they were in Alum Bay the wind had dropped to almost calm and with only a few knots of tide to carry them. As they reached the Needles Lighthouse the rain came down which turned into a downpour with thunder within 20 minutes!
