The fifth stage of Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2025/2026 concluded in Bodrum, delivering a spectacular finale that performed Ptichki Sailing Team, skippered by Elvira Pinchuk, on top after a tense battle on the water.
The final racing day offered perfect conditions, with a steady breeze of 14-16 knots allowing for three decisive races. The fleet engaged in intense, high-stakes competition, fighting for every meter of the course. The stage results were determined with a total of nine races and one discard.
Ptichki Sailing Team clinched the top spot, holding off their closest rivals by a single point.
"The regatta was held in strong winds, and we managed to complete the entire program. Winning is especially pleasing," said Egor Terpigorev of Ptichki Sailing Team. "In the last race, we had a head-to-head battle down to the last meter. It was a great feeling. Also it is important that as a team, we are improving stage by stage. Our synchronization is getting better and better, and we are solving all issues much more easily. Special thanks to my team for the great job. It was really cool, we are happy. We'll see everyone at the final."
Securing the silver medals was the Turkish team Nautique Yachting, led by Onur Erardag, who finished just one point behind the leaders. It is first big success of Nautique Yachting in the Series.
The bronze medal went to Tenzor Team, helmed by Andrey Pushkin, who maintained a strong presence in the leaderboard throughout the final day.
"We had a good final day," said Nikita Ushkov, bowman of Tenzor Team. "There were a few technical errors that prevented us from reaching our maximum potential. Overall, we are happy with our result, and we have issues to work on."
Just shy of the podium, Bars Sailing Team, led by Maxim Batrakov, finished in fourth place. Crew member Egor Zuev commented on the challenging conditions: "There was quite a lot of wind - it was intense and interesting. Unfortunately, we made a couple of mistakes and missed the podium. It was very interesting to race. Even though the fleet is small, everyone is sailing very tightly. Almost no one makes mistakes, and if they do, it's hard to catch up."
The leaders from the first day - Ada JR Kalinka, Dolce Vita, and Russian Bogatyrs - were unable to secure a place on the podium, setting the stage for a determined comeback in the grand finale.
Tenzor International Cup - J/70 Open Winter Series 2025/2026 will conclude with its final stage from April 9 to 12, which promises to be the biggest sailing event of the spring in Bodrum.
