GL52 Pensacola Cup 2026 - Overall

by Caroline Rochford 23 Mar 13:04 PDT 19-22 March 2026

After securing a lead of 11 points going into the final day of racing, Wizard could not be caught and sailed away with a well-deserved first place victory.

Peter Askew and team sailed their hearts out, winning an impressive nine out of twelve races. After several frustrating second-place finished, Askew was thrilled to come out on top with the win his team has worked hard for over the last couple years.

Even with the leader finalized going into the final day, to say the final day was boring however, would be false. After three days of up and down performances, Katana rediscovered their speed that has made them such a dominating force in the Summer Series and finished first in both races of the day, finishing second in the overall results.

Windquest sailed well and worked hard to spoil Katana's party, but narrowly fell behind them by only two points. They'll look to regroup and come back stronger and hungrier for their next outing in April.

Teams get a short respite before they're back on Pensacola Bay April 9-12 for our Southern Showdown. And if this was any indicator of what to expect, we're in for an epic showdown.
