ACR Electronics is proud to announce that its new ResQFlare PRO distress light has been nominated for the DAME Safety and Security category award and will make its debut at METSTRADE 2024.

The nomination reaffirms ACR Electronics' position as a global leader in safety and survival technologies, acknowledging the innovative advancement it has incorporated into this eVDSD (Electronic Visual Distress Signalling Device), which represents a significant step forward in distress signalling technology for maritime safety.

Exceeding the rigorous standards and expectations of U.S. Coast Guard requirements, the new ResQFlare PRO combines electronic and optical technologies to demonstrate superior functionality and efficiency over pyrotechnic flares. At its core, the buoyant eVDSD delivers a more powerful SOS distress signalling system always ensuring maximum visibility on the water, even after dark.

Classified as a certified Night Visual Distress Signal, the distress light is optimized for visibility with night vision goggles (NVG). By flashing red-orange and cyan LEDs to signal the international Morse code for S-O-S, while simultaneously emitting the same S-O-S pattern through its infrared (IR) component, it is an invaluable tool for night rescue teams. It also features a luminous angle of 180 degrees allowing for a significantly greater light distribution range.

"We are very excited to be introducing the ResQFlare PRO to the market," says Mikele D'Arcangelo, Vice President of Global Marketing and Product Management. "As with all our innovations, this electronic flare is a testament to our team remaining consistently dedicated to pushing the boundaries of safety technology innovations. The ResQFlare PRO will significantly enhance the safety of seafarers and provide invaluable peace of mind on the water."

Supplied with the included distress flag which is a U.S. Coast Guard certified Day Visual Distress Signal, the ResQFlare Pro offers a comprehensive suite of signaling options for daytime and nighttime emergencies.

Boasting an operational life that exceeds the RTCM 13200.0 requirements by 50%, and an extended burn time that far surpasses that offered by traditional pyrotechnic flares, sailors and boaters can choose this distress light for a more sustainable and reliable alternative.

All media and METSTRADE visitors are invited to the ACR Electronics booth, 03.432, where they can expect in-depth tutorials on the ResQFlare PRO distress light as well as the other industry-leading survival technology ACR Electronics will be exhibiting.

The broad portfolio of products to be exhibited includes the new SR303 (GMDSS Survival Radio), the Pathfinder AIS (AIS Search and Rescue Transmitter), and the Bivy Stick Mesh (the first satellite messenger to integrate advanced LoRa-enabled mesh networking with the global reach of the Iridium Satellite network). The award-winning ResQLink AIS PLB and the GlobalFix V5 AIS EPIRB will also be exhibited on the stand following their debut at Metstrade 2022.
