Final junior winter training at Starcross Yacht Club

A very windy and gusty Saturday 23rd April saw the final session in Starcross inaugural Junior Winter Training program.
Originally planned as a mini-regatta, the wind built substantially through the morning, leading to some exciting sailing with multiple start-line capsizes. The enthusiastic and super-competitive juniors (who this week were racing as one group rather than the usual two) had a General Recall in the first race!
As the wind built, the decision was made to come ashore for a break, and much fun was had by all in a blasting reach back from the race area to the slipway.
After a debrief, lunch, and a presentation for contributions and progress through the whole winter training series, those who wanted to went back on the water. The wind drop off nicely and there was some excellent racing during the afternoon.
Once again, thanks to coach & organiser Dougal Scott, RYA coaches Stuart Jones and Izzy Cramp, as well as all the other parent coaches and volunteers.
